Looking Glass

Sometimes I find myself trying to see things from someone else’s point of view. Today I went into a gas station to buy a drink. The woman at the cash register rung me up and was just plain rude. She didn’t greet me or budge a smile. Instead, she let out a sigh, took my money, and sent me on my way. I grabbed my black cherry calypso, looked at her with a big, cheesy smile and said “THANKS!!”. As I was walking out the door I gave her a label: Bitch… Capital B.

When I got in my car and drove home I thought about that Bitch with the curly red hair and bogus tude. Then I put myself in her shoes. I have no idea what that woman goes through on a daily basis. I don’t know where she came from. I don’t know what her family’s like (if she has one) and I certainly don’t know what her struggles are… the list goes on. But one thing is for sure- I am beginning to learn how utterly selfish it is to be judgmental of others.

Goal for June: go put a smile on that Bitch’s face.

Brighter than Sunshine

There’s nothing better than seeing old friends. They’re like little time machines that give you the boost of realization you need to remember where you came from. Oh, and right up there with reuniting with old friends are freeze pops. How can something so simple taste so delicious.. dang, they are just so good!

So note to self, if you ever need a dose of nostalgia, turn to long lost pals and those dank-ass plastic wrapped juice sticks.
